We believe in communicating transparently, using an agile structure where work is made visible on a daily basis.When things change, we adapt and re-set expectations, making it clear what we’re working on and holding ourselves accountable to what we set out to do.
When hiring new employees, we prioritize talent over geographic location, which has created a diverse, engaged network of Alley staff all over the country (and a few folx around the world!). We give our team members the space they need to work how they work best. From co-working spaces to wifi-enabled Airstreams in the middle of the desert, we understand the best work is done when team members get to work in the setting that works best for them. We’ll even pay for it with an annual equipment and co-working budget.

We have coaches, not managers. We trust our team members to get their work done when they say they will. We also value learning and professional development, and provide structured mentorship and guidance at all levels of the company.
Day in, day out.
We use Scrum to run our projects collaboratively with our clients. Our project management techniques are designed to reduce stress for clients and Alley staff alike. As a distributed company, we use tools like Slack, Zoom, Google Apps, and Jira, to effectively get our work done from the workplaces of our choice. Tying these processes and tools directly into our culture improves everyone’s relationships. Our ultimate goal is to make our clients happy — and have some fun along the way.
