Team MAGIC, or “The Magicians” (as they are known within Alley) found themselves with a rare opportunity to link their in-person retreat with the American Alliance of Museums yearly conference in New Orleans. Team Magic has worked on many museum projects and a few members of the team were speaking at the conference last year. So, instead of choosing a random city somewhere in the continental United States of America, the Magicians set their sites on the birthplace of jazz.
Over 250 CEOs and senior leaders from news, magazine, local and national newspapers, digital video, advertising and broadcast will convene in New York City from September 7th through 9th to discuss case studies and ideas – ranging from opportunities with video to avenues for monetizing content to the future of news services.
A few talks we have our eye on include:
- The keynote interview with the CEO of Ziff Davis and Editor of Harvard Business Review discussing how Ziff Davis utilized content, data and technology to diversify revenue streams for the future
- A panel with the chief product officer at Forbes Media detailing how to best create a newsroom that incorporates mobile content
- A panel on advertising models and technology, led by the CEO of Storyful, that will delve into strategies behind more innovative platforms that take into account development metrics, standards and technical requirements
Alley Interactive also joins other DMS sponsors, such as Chartbeat and Brightcove, and media partners Reuters and Online Publishers Association Europe in supporting the event.
