Not Invented Here syndrome (NIH) is the guilty pleasure that tempts engineering teams into creating bespoke approaches to problems that have already been solved. Even having your eyes opened to the temptation doesn’t immunize you from it. So, how do you know whether a bespoke solution warrants the effort or if it’s just plain hubris?
Tomorrow, Alley Interactive will host a WordPress New Contributor Workshop at our headquarters in New York City. We’ll be opening up our doors to the WordPress NYC Meetup group to teach people who haven’t used WordPress how to contribute to the open-source project.
Tom Harrigan, Alley’s Director of WordPress Platform Services, will be on hand to help welcome new contributors into the community and offer advice on coding best practices.
We hope to see you here!
